When grading the balls,
our principle aim is to ensure that your expectations are met.
We understand that you can’t actually pick up and look at your balls until
they are delivered. Therefore we go to great lengths to ensure consistency in
our grading process so as to give you the confidence to purchase our products again and again.
We have also endeavoured to keep it simple. Rather than use
descriptive words (such as Premium) or meaningless qualifiers (like AAA+),
we simply have 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Practice Quality. It’s obvious which is the best
and which is the worst!
As New
As the name suggests, these balls are impossible to distinguish from new ones.
In fact, the only difference between these balls and new ones is the box.
Because so few balls actually make it into this category, we normally only have
them in stock just after a new shipment arrives.
|
1st Quality Balls
These balls are very close to the "As New" category and many are difficult to differentiate
from a new ball. To make it to this grade the ball has not been hit many times,
and must be virtually free of defects. Some balls have corporate logos or have
been marked by a pen for identification. These balls represent less than 5% of
the balls recovered from golf courses and are a cost effective alternative that make your golf game more affordable and more enjoyable.
|
2nd Quality Balls
These balls just miss out on 1st Quality, normally because of one small visible
defect. The defect will not be such that it would affect the performance or life
of the ball. Balls that are slightly dull are also placed in this grade. These balls are great value as they represent even more savings.
|
3rd Quality Balls
To be pushed into this grade the ball will most likely have a visible scuff or
a couple of minor blemishes. It may also have some variation in colour or shine.
These balls make the ideal choice if you tend to lose a few balls.

Practice Balls - High Quality Titleist ProV1 or ProV1x
These have been graded so you can still play a practice round or two with them if you want. They still have plenty of life left, still have their shape and will fly truly off the club. They will show some signs of minor wear, minor paint loss and some small blemishes and variation in colour but nothing that detracts from the intended purpose of a practice round or two or plenty of practice hits. They represent great value and are also a perfect alternative to have in your bag when you hit over that water hazard or on a course with deep rough.
|
Practice Balls - Medium Quality Titleist ProV1 & ProV1x Mix
These are graded as practice balls and, as such, will show varying signs of age, some paint loss (as is the case with soft cover balata type balls), scuffs, marks and discoloration. They don't have any major splits, cuts or chunks that will distract from their use and you will get plenty of practice hits from them. They are predominantly best used for practice but you may still find a few that you can put in your bag for hitting over that water hazard on the course. They represent great value as they make practising with the ball you play with more affordable.
|
Practice Balls - High Quality
These high quality mixes are great for general practice and many may even be OK for a round or two or as a spare for hitting over water hazards etc. They will have some blemishes and minor discoloration but are generally still in great shape and colour and will give you plenty of hits. Great value at this price.
|
Practice Balls - Medium Quality
These are a mix of mostly low brand balls that are generally suitable for practice only. These practice balls will show signs of use, have marks, scuffs and discoloration etc and are generally duller and less whiter in appearance than the high quality practice balls. But you will still get pleny of practice hits and these are good value at this price.

What we don't sell
None of our balls are past their use by date. We don’t sell balls that have
deep splits or cuts in them or are badly degraded in some other way.
